In 2011, Insight Development Corporation formed a development team to design a new apartment complex on the land surrounding The Barton Tower, a large iconic concrete construction apartment building for senior citizens in downtown Indianapolis. While at EDEN Collaborative, Mr. Anderson and Mr. Bohlander provided the lead design and documentation efforts for landscape improvements to the site as well as preliminary massing analysis for the project. Some key elements to the design included new streetscape improvements and the reclamation of an abandoned public alley, or Slip Garden, through the center of the site as a unifying public element open to the public. The defining element of the Slip Garden is a the iconic "Mass Ave" screenwall that serves as a destination within the surrounding Mass Ave Cultural District. The design uses contemporary forms and furnishings that respond to the surrounding context of the area, while introducing dramatic new features such as the artistic screewall and overhead catenary lighting system
